What to bring

When you come to hospital, you need to bring:

• Any paperwork that you have been given about your test or examination, 
• Your Medicare card
• Any previous recent X-Rays or other images, 
• Your request slip, 
• WorkCover or TAC details (if applicable)

You may need to remove your jewellery before your scan.

We are unable to take responsibility for your personal belongings, so you should leave any valuables at home.

• Mammograms

  Mammograms are x-rays of your breast tissue.

• General x-ray

• Interventional radiology procedures

• Ultrasound

  An ultrasound scan creates a real-time picture of the inside of the body using sound waves to image internal body structures.

• MRI

  Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans use a magnetic field and radio waves to take pictures inside the body.

• CT scans

  A computed tomography (CT) scan is a medical imaging procedure that uses x-rays and digital technology to create detailed 2 or 3D images of the body.

• Dental x-rays

  OPG (Orthopantomogram) and Cephalogram are types of dental x-rays. An OPG produces a panoramic view of the jaw whilst a cephalogram is an x-ray of the facial structures.

• Fluoroscopy

  Fluoroscopy can be used to examine the digestive tract, the kidneys and bladder, joints, and to perform minor operative procedures such as intravenous line insertions.
