Visiting hours
Visitors are welcome every day between 10am and 8pm. There’s no time limit during these hours. Just remember to give patients the rest and privacy they need.
Visits outside regular hours
Visits outside of regular visiting hours may be possible in special circumstances. Please speak with the Nurse in Charge to make a request.
Number of visitors
To keep rooms safe and comfortable, we recommend no more than two visitors at a time.
If you are feeling unwell
If you're sick or think you might be contagious, please stay home unless you're coming in for care yourself.
In special cases, like an end-of-life visit, let the Nurse in Charge know and we’ll do our best to help.
Visiting a patient in isolation
If the person you are visiting is in isolation, it means we’re taking extra steps to prevent the spread of infection. In-person visits may be limited, so please check with the ward staff first.
You can still stay connected through video calls (like FaceTime or Zoom) or a simple phone call.
If you’re able to visit in person, we’ll guide you on how to stay safe. This may include:
- Wearing protective items such as gloves, gowns and masks
- Washing your hands
- Following any instructions from our staff
These precautions help keep everyone safe while still letting you connect with the person you are visiting.
Visiting a special area
Some areas of our hospital have their own visiting rules.

Each patient can have up to two visitors in the cubicle area.
Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

- 10am to 1pm
- 2pm to 8pm
Please note: no visitors between 1 and 2pm
Visiting outside of regular visiting hours may be possible in special circumstances. Please speak with the Nurse in Charge to make a request.
Support persons and carers
Support persons and carers are always welcome and play an important role in patient care. In some cases, they may be able to visit outside regular visiting hours to help with meals, personal care, therapy, communication, or clinical updates.
We can arrange flexible visiting for patients who need extra support, including those who:
- are children under the age of 18
- are living with disability
- have a behavioural need
- need help with communication (including non-English speakers)
- are living with mental health or dementia and have a nominated medical treatment decision maker.
Please discuss with your Nurse in Charge or care team to see if this option is available to you.
Bringing in flowers and gifts
Some wards may not allow flowers due to infection control requirements. Before bringing them in, please check with the Nurse in Charge.
