We regularly contact patients on our Specialist Clinics waiting lists to confirm your need for care. This is called a waiting list review.
Why we contact you
We review our Specialist Clinics waiting lists to:
- keep our records up to date.
- stay in touch while you wait for your appointment.
- make sure limited appointments go to the patients who need them most by confirming who still needs care.
During the review, we will ask if you still need a Specialist Clinics appointment. If you no longer need it, please let us know.
How we contact you
- If you have provided a mobile number, we will send you a text message (SMS) with a link.
- This SMS will come from VicKey, who we partner with for this review.
- The unique and secure link will point to the VicKey website: vickey.org.au
- If you are waiting for more than one appointment, you will receive a separate message for each waiting list.
Responding to a waiting list review
Step 1: Click the link in the SMS.
Step 2: Sign in to the VicKey website using your surname and date of birth.
Step 3: Select one of the following responses:
- ‘Yes’ – if you still need your appointment.
- ‘No’ – if you no longer require this appointment. For example, if you have been treated elsewhere or if your condition has improved.
What happens after I respond?
If you respond ‘yes’
- You will stay on the waiting list.
- We will contact you when an appointment is available.
If you respond ‘no’
- You will be removed from the waiting list.
- We will send you and your GP a letter in the mail once completed.
- If you need care in the future, a new referral from your GP will be required.
We acknowledge the delays in our service and are actively working to reduce wait times and improve access to care.

If you need support while you are waiting for your appointment, please see your GP. They can provide us an updated referral if your condition has changed.
