About the programs

Transition to specialty practice (TSP) programs are offered in selected areas in Austin Health for registered nurses. The programs are designed to help you:

• develop clinical knowledge
• enhance skills and assessment
• progress clinical decision making.

The programs offer the opportunity to enhance your ability to deliver excellence in patient care within a specialty clinical area and allows potential for career progression, a pathway to postgraduate studies and professional development.

The programs include a mix of online learning and face to face education, creating an academic bridge between undergraduate and post graduate study. Clinical hurdles and assessment tasks are also part of the programs and allow participants to demonstrate holistic person-centred care.

• Emergency Department
• Intensive Care Unit
