- First child vaccinations administered at the Repat
11 January 2022
Isabelle, Caleb and Isaac were among the first 5-11 year olds to roll up their sleeves for a COVID vaccine at the Repat clinic today.
Queuing before 8am, the children made their way into specially decorated cubicles with their father, Austin Health’s Dr Nick Jones and chatted with nursing staff before receiving their injections.
“Vaccines are a key part of our public health response,” Nick said.
“It’s great that we are now able to extend the protections they provide to our 5-11 year olds.”
“Caleb & Isaac were very excited to come and get vaccinated like Dad did. They couldn’t decide who would be vaccinated first!”
The clinic at the Repat expects to vaccinate 1500 children each week, with plans in place to ramp up to 1,000. All child vaccinations must be booked through the Vic Gov Department of Health by visiting https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/book-your-vaccine-appointment.
Please note that there are no walk-ins for this clinic or staff booking system. We are adding more appointments as we expand the clinic’s capacity, so check back regularly.
