- Diamond Creek Op Shop volunteers donate over $335,000 to support patient care
20 March 2026
Austin Health has received an incredible $335,648 donation from the Diamond Creek Opportunity Shop Auxiliary, presented at the shop’s 53rd Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 18 March.
The remarkable contribution was made possible by a dedicated team of 56 volunteers, who collectively gave more than 13,940 hours of their time over the past year.
Funds raised by the Op Shop are helping to enhance patient care, including supporting the new Endoscopy Suite at Austin Health.
Naomi Italia, Interim Divisional Manager Access, Planned Procedures and Endoscopy Services, said the impact of the donation will be felt by patients for years to come.
“Thanks to the funds raised through the Diamond Creek Op Shop and the hard work of all your volunteers, we have been able to purchase brand new anaesthesia equipment for our new endoscopy suite, which will directly contribute to safer and more comfortable patient care,” Naomi said.
“On behalf of our teams and the many patients who will benefit, we are truly grateful for your generosity.”
Austin Health also acknowledged the extraordinary contribution of the Op Shop volunteers, whose ongoing commitment continues to make a meaningful difference to the community.
Manager of Volunteer Engagement, Jodi Batchelor, shared her appreciation:
“Honestly, what you all do… it really matters. It’s not just about the fundraising – it’s the care, the time, the energy you give. You’re the ones who keep this legacy going, and what you do brings better health outcomes for people in our care.”
