The Pharmacy Department works closely with you and your healthcare team to provide safe and effective medicines.

Our services

We provide the following services:

• Clinical pharmacy for inpatients and outpatients
• Medicines information
• Clinical trials
• Preparation of chemotherapy
• Sterile and extemporaneous manufacturing of pharmaceuticals
• Undergraduate and postgraduate education and training
• Drug distribution

Patient pharmacies are located at Austin Hospital, the ONJ Centre, Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital and Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre.

Related services

• Managing pain

  We care for and treat people who have acute, complex and persistent pain during their hospital stay, especially after surgery.

• Managing medication

  We help people recently discharged from hospital to manage their medications.

• Aboriginal health

  We support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and their family while using hospital services. We provide access to Austin Health's Closing the Gap pharmaceutical program.

• Drug & antibiotic allergies

  We test people who have been told that they have an antibiotic or other drug allergy, to see if this is correct.

  Use our online form to order repeats of your prescriptions kept on file at our Outpatient Pharmacy.
