Yuli's second chance: Life after intestinal transplant at Austin Health
24 July 2025 - At just 19 years old, Yuli Mori has already faced more than most do in a lifetime. Born with intestinal pseudo-obstruction, Yuli spent much of her life unable to absorb or digest food. Even something as simple as brushing her teeth would make her ill. She was fed through a central line and often too unwell to go to school.

Sam, born with a rare genetic muscle disease, became familiar with the challenges faced by people with disability when navigating the healthcare system from a young age. This year’s event was extra special as for the first time in six years, Austin Health hosted the morning tea as an official Ambassador of VACCA!

1 July 2025 - Effective 1 July 2025, Austin Health, Mercy Health (Mercy Hospital for Women), Northern Health and Seymour Health proudly commence operations as part of Victoria’s new Local Health Service Networks (Networks). Together, we form the North Metro & Mitchell Network.
