About us
The Department of Cardiology has a strong clinical, teaching and research focus.
We provide services for the diagnosis, medical treatment and rehabilitation of heart disease.
We also provide surgical treatments in our state-of-the-art cardiac catheterisation laboratories. Find out more about heart treatments.
Our comprehensive Heart Failure Service involves a specialist Heart Function Clinic, exercise rehabilitation programs at both the hospital and in regional community health centres, and heart failure nurses undertaking regular home visits.
We have a 33-bed acute ward at Austin Hospital. Our clinics are held at the Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital.

- Cardiac rehabilitation program for patients with coronary heart disease
- A telephone-based, risk management program (COACH) for all patients discharged after acute coronary syndromes

For patients
