About us
The Diabetes Education Service provides high quality, best practice education and support for people living with diabetes, their family members and support persons.
We work closely with other services within Austin Health and our community partners.
Our services
We provide the following diabetes education services:
- One-on-one appointments for both for patients in hospital and in our clinics
- Insulin pump service
- Professional Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) service
- Over-the-phone insulin dose adjustment
- Bolus advisor/Smart blood glucose meter service
- Transitioning and Young Adults Diabetes Services (YADS)
Our clinics
We run the following clinics:
- Diabetes Education Clinic (Adult and paediatric) – Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital
- Pre-pump Clinic – Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital or by telehealth
- Ambulatory Insulin Dose Adjustment Clinic – by phone*
*You need a referral from an Austin Health endocrinologist to access this phone clinic.
