Data to decisions: Research in the age of AI

In a world where data is abundant and AI is advancing, how do we make research meaningful, ethical, and impactful - for real people, in real systems?

Through an exploration of this year's theme for ResearchFest, we want to push the limits and critically explore potential for AI in research at Austin Health.

Join us for an exciting program throughout which we'll tackle this topic across disciplines and career stages and engage in technical, ethical, strategic, and human conversations about how we're approaching AI at Austin Health - and beyond.

Our program

Something for everyone

This year's program has something for everyone, we'll:

  • kick off festivities with a thought provoking and inspirational keynote speaker
  • support our early career researchers through Grand Rounds
  • celebrate innovation and achievement with the presentation of a number of awards
  • learn from our peers who are using AI in their practice
  • pay tribute to Prof Rinaldo Bellomo and his legacy at Austin Health - and beyond.

We're also excited to host the University of Melbourne's Medical School End of Year Research Symposium on day one of ResearchFest. Please register for this event separately if you would like to attend.

Celebrating research at Austin Health

As much as we’re centring our spotlight presentations on the AI theme, ResearchFest is also a chance to share achievements, highlight innovation, and celebrate the breadth of research happening every day at Austin Health.

Hear from early career researchers and established colleagues as they share their work and project developments. Find out how you can get involved below.
