About us

Our Positron Emission Tomography (PET) service performs around 5000 scans each year, mostly for people with cancer, dementia and epilepsy.

We provide scans for patients as well as for research. Our research programs bring together basic molecular and cell biology discoveries and translate these to improve patient care for people with cancer and brain conditions.

Our services

We provide PET scans to:

• See detailed images of your tumours
• See if epilepsy surgery will be effective for you
• Find out the extent of your dementia
• Find out what kind of dementia you have
• Perform research to improve our understanding of cancer and brain conditions

• Molecular imaging & therapy

  We perform specialised scans that allow us to see what's happening in your body at the level of your cells and molecules.

• Nuclear medicine

  We develop and use radioactive materials to diagnose and treat disease.

• Cancer & wellness

  We provide comprehensive cancer services at the Austin Hospital, Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre, and in the community.

• Brain & nerve conditions

  We care for and treat people for diseases of the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles.

• Epilepsy

  We diagnose, assess and treat adults and children with both new and established epilepsy.

• Children's epilepsy

  We assess, care for and treat children and adolescents with epilepsy.
