About us
We are physicians and surgeons (otolaryngologists and head and neck surgeons) who look after disorders of the head and neck region including the ears, nose and throat but not the eyes, teeth, spine or brain.
Our services
We perform the following procedures:
- Surgery for cancers of the head and neck region including:
- oral cavity (inside the mouth), tongue, throat and larynx (voice box)
- salivary glands and the thyroid gland
- lymph nodes of the neck
- skin cancers on the lips, face, head and neck
- Surgery to treat blocked or distorted noses and sinus conditions
- Surgery for airway constriction and for selected patients' apnoea and snoring
- Tonsil and adenoid removal for both adults and children
- Surgery to close holes in the eardrum
- Surgery to treat ear conditions including loss of hearing in adults and children, mastoid and middle ear infections
Speech pathology staff work closely with us. They can help with hoarseness and voice box problems.
Neurologists also work closely with us to treat ear problems related to balance and dizziness.
Our clinics
We run the following clinics:
- ENT/Head and Neck Clinic - Tuesday and Friday morning weekly
- ENT/Head and Neck Clinic - Thursday afternoon forthightly

What to bring
Every time you come
- Medicare card
- Health Care Card and/or concession card (if you have one)
- Private health insurance card (if applicable/if you want to use it)
- Adverse drug alert card (if you have one)
- Previous x-ray films, scans, ultrasounds or any other test results or reports
- Medicines you need to take while you are here
- List of medicines you are currently taking (or the boxes), including medicines you have bought without a prescription, such as herbal supplements and vitamins
- Glasses, hearing aid, walking frame
For a clinic appointment
- Your appointment letter
- Any special items listed on your letter
- TAC or Workcover claim number (if relevant)
For a day procedure
- Responsible adult carer to stay with you to hear instructions, help you and take you home
- Comfortable day clothes, such as a tracksuit
Our locations
You may have your surgery at the Austin Hospital or Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital.
Check the information you have received to make sure you know which hospital to visit. If you are unsure, call your surgical liaison nurse or contact us.
